Do you think Zim should remain public following the stock buyout?
Would it be better for Zim to remain private after a possible deal with Ray Shipping? On the one hand, I think public status is a plus because the company has access to capital, can attract investors, and can maintain market confidence. However, there are also downsides: constant reporting, pressure from shareholders, and bureaucracy. I read an interesting article on the Gettransport blog about the Zim stock buyout https://blog.gettransport.com/news/zim-ray-shipping-merger-rumors-market-analysis/ and similar cases. Several logistics companies were able to survive and increase their profits after moving into the private sector. What do you think? I talked about this with my friends, but they aren't interested in such boring topics.

Your friends are strange, but aren't these topics boring to them? I think Ray Shipping will most likely retain public ownership to avoid losing its international reputation. That's probably the smartest compromise. By the way, I read an interesting article on the Gettransport blog.
