As we remember the one year anniversary of the police shooting that took the life of Joey Santos in South Whitehall Township, we also reflect on all the other ways that local police have targeted and punished black and brown communities in the last year.
There have been more shootings in the first 6 months of 2019 than there were in all of 2018. This is the result of over-policing without actually helping the community. Our people are afraid to call the police to get help they desperately need.
By working together, the community can stop gun violence, over-policing, and police brutality. But it takes all of us to make that change.
Sign the petition to demand police accountability and action by all the elected officials in Lehigh County to address gun violence, over-policing, and police brutality.
