Gaby Lopez

Lead Organizer in Reading

Gabrielina López is the mother of twins, and the grandmother of four adorable grandchildren, and a lifelong community activist. She was born in Tamboril, Santiago RD and has lived in the USA since 1986, residing in Reading PA since 1989. She studied primary and secondary school at Colegio De La Salle and PUCMM. In 1990 she received the opportunity to work at Reading Hospital, where she worked for over 13 years. In 2008 she, along with a group of Dominicans concerned about our rights, became part of La Unión Dominicana, an institution that fights for respect for Hispanics in all levels of government and society in general. During all these years she worked and organized different campaigns for various candidates at the national level, including that of former President Barack Obama in 2008, where they registered more than 23,000 new Latino voters in Central Pennsylvania, she was elected as a delegate for Hillary's campaign in 2016. Since January 2016, she has been a part of the Make the Road PA family, as a lead organizer, an institution that builds power, to create justice in Latino communities, where she fights with a group of parents for a quality education for children across Reading.
